Be careful with illegal housing brokers!
Recently, there seems to be a Brazilian who targets foreigners and pretends to be a broker who supports a real estate housing company. They demand for an extremely high fee which brings severe damage to the victims. There was once a case where the victim purchased a used house with a price of 12 million yen and was demanded to pay for a total of 5 million yen for the handling charge. This clearly violates the law and is considered as a serious criminal case. This kind of act could be a big threat to the Japanese companies who has a very good performance in this business. House, lots and building referral without legal authority is forbidden by the law and is an offense to Registered Real Estate Broker Law. Performing mediation for house loan without legal authority is a violation to Money Lending Control Act. As a foreigner, it may sound favorable to seek support from another foreigner who we think can help us in buying a house, but nothing can change the fact that this is a fraud. Please pay attention carefully and don't be allured with their sweet words. We should firmly decline any support from these people.
